Deltics Over The Pennines
The latest book from Visions International features the Class 55 Deltics on cross Pennine workings. In mid-1979 the Class began to be used on services to Liverpool. Twenty of the fleet subsequently operated the service; all are featured.
In addition, other services that crossed the Pennines such as the York – Shrewsbury mail which took Deltics to Stockport are shown as are workings over the Tyne Valley Route the most northerly Pennine crossing, BR tours and a selection of photographs featuring preserved Deltics on tours and service trains. The book is rounded off with a list of all known workings on the Liverpool services.
Many of the 300 photographs are simply stunning and the book is a must for all ‘Deltic’ enthusiasts.
